Nurturing Coexistence
Nurturing Coexistence is a short film developed through the Earth in Focus 2025 Media Lab, a three-month programme guided by professionals from the wildlife and conservation filmmaking industry. Throughout the lab, we received mentorship while developing and producing the film, culminating in its public showcase at the Earth in Focus Singapore Nature Film Festival 2025. I served primarily as a camera operator on the project, and also contributed to the editing and storyboarding process.
Synopsis: As encounters between humans and wildlife grow ever closer in Singapore, Nurturing Coexistence follows a teacher whose daughter’s connection to nature reshapes the way she sees the world around her. What starts as an exploration of outdoor learning gradually opens into a wider landscape — of green spaces, educators, conservationists, and wildlife responders working quietly to foster understanding between people and the wild. Through these encounters, the film reflects on coexistence not as something to be managed or controlled, but as a way of learning to look more carefully, listen more closely, and rediscover our place within the natural world.
