Mark Sng is a photographer, filmmaker and photojournalist based in Singapore. His practice explores the intersections between nature, urban space, and human presence. Mark engages with themes of coexistence, and the quiet traces left behind in rapidly transforming environments.
Rooted in a background of news photography, photojournalism, and documentary storytelling, Mark’s practice spans a wide range of genres—from street and sports photography to editorial and event coverage. This versatility is shaped by his training and field experience during his time overseas, yet his deepest passion lies in documenting wildlife and conservation stories. In this space, he draws on both his photographic instincts and a background in the life sciences to observe and document animal life and human conservation efforts with care, nuance, and narrative sensitivity.
Mark has just graduated from Yale-NUS College with a major in Art and a minor in Life Science, and is an affiliate alumnus at the University of Arts London, as well as Columbia University, where he deepened his interest in photojournalism and analog photography techniques. He is currently interning with the Singapore Oceanarium’s Conservation and Science team.
